Andreas Nøstrud Grimstad (b. 2001) is a Norwegian violist, active as a chamber musician and soloist. He has appeared at festivals such as the Bergen International Festival, the Trondheim Chamber Music Festival, Fjord Classics and the Varna Summer International Music Festival, and at the BBC Proms with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist he has performed with the Trondheim Soloists and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, and has appeared on Norwegian TV and radio. He performs regularly with the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra and has collaborated with musicians such as Henning Kraggerud, Amalie Stalheim, Alexandra Conunova and members of the Berlin Philharmonic. Andreas has been awarded 1st Prize and the Inspiration Prize in the Youth Music Championship (Ungdommens Musikkmesterskap), as well as 1st Prize in the Midgard Competition. He is completing his master’s studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Lars Anders Tomter, Peter Herresthal and Henning Kraggerud.
