Martha-Pil Evertsen Neumer

The Norwegian-German violinist Martha-Pil Evertsen Neumer will complete her bachelor’s degree in the summer of 2026 at the Hochschule für Musik Basel in Switzerland. At the age of 12, Martha-Pil joined the Young Talents programme at the Barratt Due Institute of Music in Oslo, where she studied with, among others, Henning Kraggerud, Eileen Siegel and Geir Inge Lotsberg. She began her bachelor studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music with Henning Kraggerud in 2021 and continued her studies in Basel from 2023. She has participated in masterclasses with, among others, Vilde Frang, Mihaela Martin and Ilya Gringolts. Martha-Pil distinguished herself early on as the winner of a number of prizes in Norway and abroad, both as a soloist and chamber musician, and has appeared at most of Norway’s chamber music festivals. She took part in the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove (England) in 2022 and 2023, and has had the pleasure of performing with musicians such as Ian Bostridge, Alexandra Conunova and Amalie Stalheim. She plays a violin made by the Belgian violin maker Thomas Meuwissen. She is the 2026 recipient of the Ingar Dobloug grant for studies abroad, and has previously received generous support from, among others, the Tom Wilhelmsen Foundation and the Norwegian Society of Composers and Performers (Norsk Tonekunstnersamfund).
