Beginner's Guide – The title of this piece literally means 'Play of Tones'. It was written to be a modern equivalent of Bach´s Preludes and fugues (also being performed at this festival). It's a super collection of pieces, intended as a study for piano students. Here the fabulous Eirik Stømner embraces the whole lot. Rarely, if ever, has it been performed in its entirety in Norway. Stømner has learnt this especially for our festival. The music is really fun and varied, apart from being notoriously difficult in places. A seldom experience this will be.
