Opening Concert
Beginner's Guide – We kick off with a wonderful, energetic piece by Shostakovich for 8 string players, followed by a hypnotic masterpiece by Estonian Arvö Pärt - this is one of those pieces where it feels like time stops, truly magical. Then we have a quartet by this year´s festival composer, who happens to be a good friend of Pärt and who will be with us. The concert ends with one of Beethoven´s greatest and most beautiful piano trios, the 'Archduke'.
